Heraclio Alfaro Crianza 2018
Heraclio Alfaro Crianza 2018
Descriptions
We faced no small challenges in this winegrowing season, which brought us spring frosts and drought. These weather conditions resulted in a small harvest, but one of excellent quality.
The rainfall in August was vital to keeping the vineyards in a good vegetative condition. This positive situation lasted until the end of the growing cycle and the weather at the time of the harvest was mainly sunny and dry.
The balanced production of the 2017 vintage gives us a fine and elegant wine, in which the Garnacha fruit really comes to the fore. Very suitable for barrel aging and long maturation.
Tasting Notes: Intense color, elegant nose. Nice ripe black fruit, red fruit jam, and spices, well-integrated oak. Balance on the palate, dense, soft and fresh with a long finish.
Food Pairing: Traditional stews or casseroles such as beans with quail, Rioja-style and even spicy potatoes. Fresh vegetable stews. Lamb chops cooked over vine shoots, game, cold meats etc. Rioja-style cod, baked fish. Mushrooms, sauteed or in stews, omelets, etc
