Barossa Boy Double Trouble Shiraz Cabernet Red Wine 750ml
Barossa Boy Double Trouble Shiraz Cabernet Red Wine 750ml
Variety
65% Shiraz | 35% Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage Summary
2022 saw a cooler than average growing season that led to extended ripening
conditions and retention of natural acidity. As a result, patience was required to
wait for optimum harvest dates ensuring full flavour development and acid
balance was reached. Patience was rewarded with outstanding flavours and
varietal definition with exceptional quality across all white varietals.
Maturation
Once the varietals are blended, the wine is transferred to a combination of
American and French oak hogsheads for 14 months before bottling (unfined and
unfiltered)
Tasting Notes
This vibrant, deep red wine with purple tinges showcases a youthful appearance.
It features a rich, fruit-driven aroma, combining lifted blackcurrant and cool
spearmint from the cabernet with intense raspberry and sweet cinnamon spice
from the shiraz. The palate echoes this harmony, blending shiraz's bold fruit with
the sleek tannins of cool-climate cabernet, all balanced seamlessly with fine
French oak for a well-rounded finish.
